For the benefit of all involved with the sport of Handball in New Zealand, on the 2 February 2006 a new organisation has been formed, namely the New Zealand Handball Federation (NZHF).

• to grow and develop Handball in New Zealand
• to have a strong national representation at the World Championship Qualifiers and at the Olympic Games
• to organise local, regional, national, and international tournaments for competitive and social divisions
• to help establish regional Handball federations to more effectively facilitate these objectives
• to be an accountable organisation which openly communicates with all of its members
