The NZHF became a Full Member of the IHF on 5 June 2009, bya vast majority vote at the XXXII Ordinary Congress of the IHF in Cairo, Egypt.

This significant achievement recognises the commitment theNZHF has towards growing and developing Handball in New Zealand.

This is also the result of many years of hard work trying toresolve a complex political situation that has hindered the sport’s developmentin New Zealand.

The overwhelming endorsement of the NZHF by all IHF membercountries, is a clear message that the effort was well worth it.
